Imaging During Pregnancy

Pregnant patients are a unique patient population who are also subject to the same risks for injury and disease as everyone else. We are very mindful of the fact that some diagnostic studies that are performed such as x-rays and CT-scans contribute some radiation risks. When possible, alternative studies such as ultrasound and MRI may be performed. However, there are circumstances when other alternatives studies may not provide the information necessary to treat a disease or injury.

We have prepared a guide for imaging during pregnancy to help answer many common questions and concerns about radiology studies during pregnancy.
